The Authors: Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler
Jay Asher was born on September 30,1975 in Arcadia, California. He attended Cuesta Community College in Cal Poly San Luis Obispo but left during his senior year. He is married and has one child. He has had many jobs, which include working at an independent bookstore, a chain bookstore, an outlet bookstore, and two public libraries. He is an award winning author and a New York Times bestselling author. He has written the book, Thirteen Reasons Why, and Co-wrote the book, The Future of Us, with Carolyn Mackler. Carolyn Mackler was born on July 13, 1973 in Manhattan, New York. She went to Vassar College and majored in Art History. It wasn't until after college that she realized she wanted to write novels. It was not an easy start for Mackler, and she spent a lot of time trying to get started in writing. After taking a class at New York University, she began the first draft of her novel Love and Other Four-Letter Words. After she found an agent, her life as a writer began to pick up speed and her first novel was sold. After Love and Other Four-Letter Words was released, she got married and then released her second book, The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things. Then she wrote her third book, Vegan Virgin Valentine and her son was born soon after. The novels that followed were: Guyaholic, Tangles, and The Future of Us, co-written with Jay Asher. The Book: The Future of Us
The Book, The Future of Us, was published on November 21, 2011 by Razorbill, a division of Penguin Young Readers Group. The book has won many awards such as: The Best Books for Young Adults, Publisher's Weekly Best Books of 2011, Barnes and Noble's Best Books of 2011, and MTV Hollywood Crush Reader's Favorite 2011 Young Adult Novel. It has been star reviewed by Publishers Weekly and Booklist. The foreign rights to this book have been sold to: Brazil, Catalan, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Thailand and the U.K. The movie rights to this book have also been sold to Warner Brothers Studio. The producer will be Denise Di Novi and the screenwriters will be Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. The release date has yet to be announced. Facebook allows user to register on the site and create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages. Users may "like" comments, links, other user groups, schools or colleges, and people. Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, his college roommates, and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. It was orignally limited to users that went to Harvard University but then spread to other colleges. Before long, Facebook was given access to the whole world.
